Antioxidants

We have all heard of antioxidants, and how they are good for us.


But what are they?


Antioxidants can help protect or slow down the damage to cells caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that the body produces in response to environmental (or other) pressures.


They do this by inhibiting oxidation which is the chemical reaction that may produce these free radicals.


Antioxidant sources can be natural or artificial.


Some natural source:


- Dark chocolate

- Blueberries

- Strawberries

- Pecans

- Artichokes

- Goji berries

- Raspberries

- Kale
